New PRESTO legacy website
The Presto Partnership, funded through Equal, has created a legacy website as a resource for other partnerships working to promote refugee employment and integration. Employability Forum has launched a 3-year Government-funded inititiative to support refugees into work in the education sector in London. The event set out our partnership framework for action, launched a campaign for employer engagement, and showcased new courses run by London Metropolitan University and the Institute of Education. REFUGEE TEACHERS EXHIBITION STAND
An exhibition stand has been produced on behalf of the Refugee Teacher's Task Force to provide more information about the national strategy and to highlight the contribution refugees can make to the education workforce. DCSF awards over £1m to support the refugee teachers strategy
In April 2007 the DfES (now the Department for Children, Schools and Families) awarded a 3-year grant to implement the recommendations of the Refugee Teachers Strategy. The grant will be used to pilot a regional 'hub' of provision in London, to raise employer awareness, to provide a support network for organisations outside London and to maintain the ongoing work of the Refugee Teachers Task Force.
